Norman Nardini Official e-Newsletter Issue #11 ◊ July 2009 AFTER THE BLUES FESTIVAL Be sure to join us at Moondogs July 24th & 25th for the ‘After the Blues Festival’ jam. You never know who might show up! Previous years have seen the likes of Chicago legends Willie Big Eyes Smith from the Muddy Waters Band and Hubert Sumlin, Howlin Wolf’s old axe-man and newcomers Devon Allman and David Gogo. Bernard Allison and Larry Mc Crae are a couple of the high-level contemporary blues artists that have come to jam on Moondog’s stage. Along with last year’s Louisiana surprise guests Tab Benoit and Lil Bryan & the Zydeco Travelers. These are the kind of nights when some of Pittsburgh’s finest, folks like Glenn Pavone, Jill West, Warren King, Gil Snyder, Jill Paone, Frank Giove, Andrea Pearle, Gary Belloma, and Jimmy Adler have all stood shoulder to shoulder with the best in the business and represented. FAMILY FRIENDLY SUNDAY AFTERNOON Last month Norman and the guys joined with Shari Richards for an afternoon of fun in the sun at LaCasa Narcisi Winery. Shari’s performance of songs like Minimum Wage, Look What You Done, and Three Times Your Fool brought the crowd closer to the stage with each song. They will be doing it once again July 26th. This venue houses a winery, restaurant, outdoor patio, and even cigars. The bandstand is located close by where people can sit on blankets, lawn chairs, bring their own food or purchase from the café. This is a free event and the show starts at 1 pm. See ya there! THE BRIDGE TO NOWHERE UPDATE The locally filmed motion picture, The Bridge to Nowhere, will now include a cut from the never released album that Norman produced on Zack Wiesinger. Smithfield Street Productions has decided to use Zack’s Blues in addition to Rock n’ Roll City in its soundtrack. This instrumental features Zack ripping the blues along with A-Team rhythm section, Harry Bottoms and Whitey Cooper. Upcoming Shows:
Norman’s ‘You should’a been there’ moment – Hartwood Acres, Pittsburgh, PA – June 14th Meeting the newest Nardini backstage, Ambrose Othello - Welcome to the world Bro!
