Friday
He cried out "Hey Bartender! Gimme a shot n' a beer!
After all, it's Jersey, the alcohol state! "Boilermaker"
let everyone know the Manful handful was pack in the
park. "Dearly Beloved, we are gathered together
here...Yeah man, "Rock N Roll City" lit the place up! He
talked of is people...beautiful, yeah and a little
desperate. "White Trash Tragedy" rung out loud n clear.
Norman then pulled out his Tiger Guitar and played "That
Ain't Gonna Happen", "I Seen Too Much", "Mr. Right Now"
and "Who Dat Do Dat". Norman's slide guitar ripped on
"My Old Rock N Roll Guitar". He then played a short
group of songs that he played at the Fast Lane in Asbury
Park in 1980. "That Girl", "Love Dog" and "Burnin' Up".
Someone in the audience kept screamin' for "Nothin' To
Lose" but Norman never got around to playing it. He then
called old friend, David Bryan, keyboardist of Bon Jovi
up to the stage. "It's All Over Now", "Like A Rolling
Stone", "Help Me Make It Through The Night", "I Shall Be
Released". David sounded great! Harry Bottoms and Whitey
Cooper both seemed to respond to havin' a keyboard
player. Another special night in Asbury Park.

Strange, Franky, (with a "Y"), Ed Kennedy, Tracy Story,

Erie PA (Erie Amphitheatre)
Details to be announced - Tues.
The sky was beautiful, the water was beautiful, about 30
kites danced high in the air. The manful handful took
the stage around 6:30pm and started rippin'! The 3500 or
so crowd all had the biggest smiles on their faces.
Norman was on good behavior because of the family
atmosphere, but that didn't stop him from talkin' loud
and sayin' nothin'. "Boilermaker" set the mood. "Rockj N
Roll City" raised the stakes, "White Trash Tragedy" kept
it real, "Love Dog" got a few laughs. On "High Times",
Norman got a couple children from the audience up to
dance. At that point you could just see the smile on his
face. Then after a short inspirational rap, the guys
broke into "Sick N Tired", which gave Whitey Cooper a
chance to lift everyone's spirit with his inspirational
vocals. Norman dedicated the next tune "That Girl" to
all the ladies in the audience. He then talked about his
old rock n roll guitar before playin' the tune on slide
and shreddin' the solo. At that point, the manful
handful called up local legend
Jake Banta to the stage. The audience went nuts.
Jake, a great singer/guitar player recently returned
from Iraq where he was working security for our United
States Government. You could feel the love and respect,
the whole city of Erie has for Jake. Everyone was glad
to see him home safe. Norman then talked about why he
calls Jake, "The Pennsylvania Plow Boy". Norman started
shoutin' "Shake Rattle N Roll" and got the audience
dancin' down front. Jake then sang a sultry arrangement
of "Fever" and heated the whole place up. A spirited
version of "Mojo" closed out the set with Jake, Whitey
and Harry singin' together "I Got My Mojo Workin'...Great
show! Rick McGee and The Roadhouse rockers came up and
did a strong set of good rockin' music. Then Rick called
up Norman and Jake to close out the night. Norman sang
"Work Together" and the three guitar players did just
that. Norman on slide, Jake with his beat up left handed
Strat, Rick playin' a real pretty new lookin; Sunburst
Strat. The jammin' went on for half an hour or so.
Norman was quoted back stage after it all wound down and
said "he looked at the audience and felt he died and
went to white trash heaven". Later that evening...the
Moonlight Lounge. Norman and the guys showed up about 11
o'clock. By 12:30, Norman, Whitey and Rocky Lamonde took
the stage and started jammin' nice and easy. About a
half hour later, Harry Bottoms showed up and took the
bass. It was casual but powerful all at the same time.
Ron "Moondog" Esser got up and sang David Allen Coe's
greatest song of all time and Bob Dylan's "I Shall Be
Released". Moondog talked a little shit, then said it
was time to quit. Norman then called up local band "The
Decibels" bass player Ralph for a couple of tunes. This
19 year old proceeded to play some serious bass guitar.
A young green-eyed lady came up to sing "Me & Bobby
McGee" to close out the night. Thanks to Ricky and Ralph
for the use of their gear.

10 p.m. - 2 a.m. - Sat.
The guys didn't start till 10:30 after the Steeler
exhibition game, a 38-3 lopsided victory for the
Steelers. "Lazy Bones" started things out right,
followed by "How You Like Me Now", "Last Night I Had A
Dream" and "White Trash Tragedy". Norman played a new
song for the first time tonight, titled "End Of The
Line". Really good tune and decent performance. Can't
wait to hear it evolved. Somebody yelled up for some
country music so Norman had Harry sing "Pots N Pans to
Bottles N Cans". Now that's some real country music!
Norman played Freddy Fender's "Camaro" and then went
right into "Wasted Days And Wasted Nights". NN sings FF!
How could that be wrong?! Some guy from WV in the
audience made the guys do John Denver's "Country Roads".
It almost didn't suck.

"Boilermaker", "Bulldog", two instrumentals for openers.
"Looks Are Deceiving", "Play"...a short stubby
overweight red dog just walked onto the stage like he
owned the place. Norman said "that dog's an old friend
of mine" and you could see tears in his eyes. "Two Story
House" is back. The first set ended with a crushin'
version of "Smoke Two Joints". Norman was firin'. The
second set saw the young girls up and dancin' and
showing off their thongs. "Graceland" got it goin' and
sounded great. "That Girl" by special request. Then
Norman sang "I Can't Stop Lovin' You" the old Ray
Charles' song and seemed to really get off on it. Harry
sang the old Allman Brother's tune "Midnight Rider"
while Norman sang the harmony. It sounded rehearsed,
although I'm sure it wasn't. "Let It Bleed" was the last
song tonight.

Sun.
Beautiful Sunday afternon! Lots of beautiful people,
Incredible boat races, a pizza eating contest and Norman
Nardini, the manful hanful. With so many activities, the
guys didn't do a whole lot of playin' but when they
played, they made it count! "Lazy Bones" got the groove
goin' "That's Enough About Me" got it rockin'.."Play"
put Norman's guitar out front. Just wish the first set
could have been longer. The second set came after a 2
hour delay and the guys were ready to go. "That Ain't
Gonna Happen", "I Seen Too Much", "Pittsburgh PA", "Heat
Of The Night", "Who Dat Do Dat" & Mr Right Now". Norman
slapped around Johnny Cash's "Fulsom Prison Blues" as he
closed out the show screaming "Johnny Loved June and
June Loved Johnny!"

"Boilermaker", "That's Enough About Me", "Play",
"Yestrday's Gone", "Nothin' To Lose". The packed house
seemed overwhelmed. Then Norman brought out the Tiger
guitar and hit it even harder. "That Ain;t Gonna
Happen", "I Seen Too Much", "Mr Right Now" and "Who Dat
Do Dat". "Graceland" is really gettin' good. Chris
Franchese and his lovely wife Shari Richards got up for
the last two songs of the first set. Shari sang "Neil
Young's Down By The River" and blew the whole room away!
Then Chris sang a funk blues while playing some
seriously hot guitar! These two are very talented!
Second set was mostly old standards..."That Girl",
"Burnin' Up", "Love Dog". God friend Chuck Koehler got
up and sang Elvi's "Teddy Bear" and Whitey closed out
the night crooning "Town With No Name".

Sun.
The sun was hot. Harry & Whitey had cute little bistro
umbrellas set up to keep out of the direct sunlight.
Norman was just bakin' in it. Before the band started
playin' Norman declared "I Just Blew Up My Amp!".
Luckily, sound man Ray had a spare. The first set was a
little laid back. No real strong rockin'. The second set
picked it up as Whitey and Harry really started to get
it goin'. Great guitar jam on Johnny Cash's "Fulsom
Prison Blues". Norman pointed to club DJ, Flounder and
said how much he's enjoyed working with him. As he
pointed to himself, he shouted "I'm smoked sausage! Hot!
Not Sweet, cause a man like me is hard to beat!" He's
shot! Smokin' version of "Graceland" at the end of the
show. Hey! Stay outta the sun! It'll kill ya!
