Moondog's: Blawnox, PA
man we had a
gooood time celebratin new years eve.at 10 o'clock me'n
my boys, Whitey Clyde Cooper and Harold Gurly Bottoms
took da stage and ripped strongful, manly hunks of real
pittsburgh rock'n roll right outta da air and carved it
up right in front of god and everybody in da
house."boilermaker","somethin's cookin" and "graceland"
all came off strong, as did da whole first set, which we
ended wit local celeb Chuck Koehler singin elvis's
"can't help falling in love".after a short break,we
counted in da new year,to much celebration, we then
played da "new years eve song", rock-a-billy style.enter
long time jimmy thackery sideman Mark Stutso.tonight
mr.stutso was center stage sweatin out lead vocals.da 10
song set gave stutso da chance to do his take on a bunch
of songs ya'll have heard me sing before.it does my hart
good to lay back, play guitar and let that sweet singin
hilljack do his thang."you go your way","just like a
woman", and "heart break shake" all hit hard but when
stutso sang "three times your fool" i saw the room fall
under a spell.make way for Whitey Clyde Cooper now takin
center stage as mark stutso went back to da drum
kit.Whitey got everybody up on da dance floor soul
shoutin his way thru a whole bunch of classic rythm n'
blues.yes ladies Whitey sho did have his mojo workin.we
sent everybody home wit a special request for Gil "i
smoke two joints".HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YA.nn |
