Gig Updates
February 6, 2009-Friday
Moondogs:
Blawnox, Pa.
Somehow Moondog talked me into going on after da
Big Cheeze, that’s right, we went on after Glenn Pavone and the Clycones,
we usually like to open for those guys. Da Cheeze is a hard act to
follow when it comes to bendin n’ sendin, you feelin me? We kicked it
with “Lazy Bones” and then I realized that it had been a good while
since we’d whipped it out, you feelin me? “Rebel Rouser” was an attempt
to jump start my ole carcass. I called “Rock n’ Roll City” but it was a
pity, cause I couldn’t find my mojo, We’re three tunes into the service
and the priest is struggling. I think “Minimum Wage” helped me to settle
down, but I ain’t sure settlin down is what I need to do to get my ole
white trash rump back up on da stump. We then came up short on a flaccid
take of “Hell’s Highway”, ya had t’ be there. “High Times” and “Nothin
to Lose” both held their own. At least I felt like da bleedin might
stop. Stutso showed up when he sang “Three Times Your Fool” and “You Go
Your Way”. Harry sang that ole Marty Robbins tune “Singing the Blues”
and showed up. Wonder when da high priest is gonna get here. I almost
chubbed on “Burnin’ Up” and “When I Die and Go to Hell” but there must
of been something in da acid, da ole chief remained flaccid, ya had to
be there. “Stiller Nation” was the best tune of the night cause it ain’t
sposta exude, it’s played to that happy polka beat. And it also gives me
a chance to clown. Luv Dat. Da pain stopped with “Little Things” and as
I was walking in to the back room of the club, Mickey, from the movie
Rocky, threw a towel at me and said, “it just wasn’t your night kid”,
and it wasn’t. And just like that “Italian Stallion” I caught a few on
the chin, but it didn’t stop me. “Ya Never Knocked me down………Ya Never
Knocked me down”…………
Stay tuned for the
latest updates! Better yet, come to one of the shows and experience "The
Manful Handful" himself, first hand!
