Birdies Landing: Port Vue,
PA
Da dock on da
yough was rockin hard. This was the biggest crowd in the
four years we've been doing it. The 90 minute first set
was all Norman songs, old and new. As the night
progressed, we started mixing in old cover songs that we
didn't know. It's during these moments that I realize
how lucky I am to play with Whitey and Harry. Over 5
hours into the night, we were all tired but feeling
energized by the magic off the music and the monkey. Did
ya bring da monkey wit ya? Let da monkey go.............

Excuses: South
Side-Pittsburgh, Pa.
Lot'sa rockers
in the house; Brice Foster and Jason Treuman of the
legendary Brett Cain Band, Mike Gavigan of L.A.'s The
Blessings, Angelo of the Science Fiction Idols, Osh of
The Addicts and also Harry Beverage, the northwestern
Pa. rocker from back in the 60's. The two hour first set
was strong. The old Silencers classic "Sidewalk Romeo"
has been gettin a great response; I should probably
learn the chords and words and stop this charade. Set
two featured "Son Of A Gun" and "Hells Highway", both
came off well. Oh sinner don't you stray from the
straight and narrow way.................

Church Brew Works:
Pittsburgh, Pa.
Outside in a
beautifully romantic courtyard we went to work. Folks
were seated at little tables as they ate and drank, we
did our best to keep the music soft but powerful. We did
a few strange cover tunes, "Barefootin", "Don't Tell Me"
and "Tiger By The Tail". Did I mention how much fun we
had working in this format? Truth is, we dig rockin' da
church.

Burgi's Roundhouse:
Altoona, Pa.
This was our
second time at the Roundhouse and the crowd was a little
bigger and they stayed a little later than the first
time. Whitey Cooper went to high school near toontown.
First set; "Lazybones", "Boilermaker", "Rockin Roll
City", "White Trash Tragedy"...........a couple of
locals axed for somethin motown so we did a slide guitar
version of "The Way Ya Do The Things Ya Do". Second set;
"That Ain't Gonna Happen", "I Seen To Much", "Mr. Right
Now", "Who Dat Do Dat"....... Harry's cousin-inlaw,
Jeff, got up and sang "All Right Now" with us and rocked
the house, and the crowd went wild. Third set; some
local young bucks requested "Folsum Prison Blues" so we
stuck that right in their ears. "Son Of A Gun", "Hells
Highway", "High Times", "Heartbreak Shake", "Are You
Lonesome Tonight". Harry Bottoms sang "Pot's n' Pans"
for friends and family that gathered togather on Harry's
side of the stage. Look out toona here we
come..................... |
