Gig Updates
November 28, 2009-Saturday
Moondogs:
Blawnox, PA
Tommy Castro’s bus was in the lot and folks were
lined up down the street when I pulled into da dog house. Skibo snuck me
in the back door and I started thinkin bout throwin n’ showin. We hit at
8:30 sharp; the packed house was full of real music people that were
ready to share in da miracle. “Lazybones” seemed like a good way to roll
forward into the night. “Rebel Rouser” let’em know dat I’m crazy, and
“Nightclub” raised da stakes. I looked over at Harry Bottoms and I saw a
big smile on his face as we kicked into “Rock n’ Roll City”, we was
throwin . “Somethin’s Cookin” gave Stutso the chance to play that
garbage truck on meth groove, and I got hot on da lead, we was showin.
“Shit House Rat” came across well. Stutso lit ‘em up wit “Three Times
Your Fool”. I broke a string, so I switched over to my G-tuned slide
guitar for “Little Things” which just soared. “I’m Comin Home” led into
the set closer, “Smoke Two Joints”. Tommy Castro and his sure fire six
piece band played two long powerful sets of soul, blues, and good rockin
jams. I got hungry late and feasted on a roll and some baked beans dat
Tommy n’ his guys left on da deli table. Just about that time Tommy
hands me his guitar in da back room and says come on out n’ jam on da
last number, “Sex Machine”. So I walked out onstage while da band was
vampin n’ blew a few riffs, da whole time I’m hearin………get up………..get on
up…………in my peanut head………this was one of doz nights………..
Stay tuned for the
latest updates! Better yet, come to one of the shows and experience "The
Manful Handful" himself, first hand!
